Air Tool Services Proudly Sponsors Andy Herd's 2026 Manx Grand Prix Campaign
We’re incredibly proud to announce our sponsorship of Lancashire motorcycle road racer Andy Herd as he prepares for one of the biggest challenges of his racing career – the 2026 Manx Grand Prix.
Andy recently visited for a photoshoot with his race bike and newly branded Air Tool Services leathers, proudly displaying our logo ahead of what promises to be an exciting racing season.
From Heating Engineer to Manx Grand Prix Competitor
You may know Andy as “Andy the Gas Man”, the trusted heating engineer serving homes and businesses across Lancashire. What you may not know is that Andy has built an impressive reputation as one of the region’s most dedicated motorcycle road racers.
Unlike many competitors, who begin racing from a young age, Andy’s competitive journey started a little later in life. After attending track days and discovering a passion for racing, he committed himself to developing his skills, balancing his business, family life and racing ambitions.
That determination quickly paid off.
In his first full championship season, Andy finished runner-up in the NO LIMITS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP, proving he could compete with some of the country’s most talented riders. Since then, he has continued to develop his racing career, taking on some of the UK’s most challenging road racing events while steadily building the experience needed to pursue his ultimate ambition…
Chasing a Lifelong Dream
For Andy, the Isle of Man has always represented the pinnacle of motorcycle road racing.
Having spent years visiting the famous TT races as a spectator, his ambition has always been to one day tackle the legendary Mountain Course himself.
That ambition has now become reality.
Andy has been accepted as NEWCOMBER No 20 for the 2026 MANX GRAND PRIX, a significant milestone in any road racer’s career and the culmination of years of dedication, commitment and countless hours both on and off the track.
Road racing is one of the most demanding forms of motorsport, requiring not only exceptional skill and determination but also significant personal investment. Every race weekend involves careful preparation, specialist equipment and the support of family, friends and sponsors who help make the journey possible.
Proud to Support Local Talent
For Air Tool Services, this sponsorship is about far more than displaying our logo on a set of race leathers.
It’s about supporting someone who has worked tirelessly to pursue a lifelong ambition.
Andy embodies the qualities we value as a business. His work ethic, attention to detail, professionalism and determination mirror the standards we strive to deliver every day for our own customers.
Having known Andy for many years, our director Jo was delighted to support his racing journey.
“Andy has worked incredibly hard to get to this point. We’ve watched his racing career develop over the years and we’re proud to be able to support him as he prepares for the next chapter. Everyone at Air Tool Services wishes him every success for the 2026 season and we’ll be following his progress every step of the way.”
