Improving Operator Safety with the RJD DPTHM Twin Handed Router – serious tools for serious work.
When a long-standing AEROSPACE customer approached us with concerns about a sudden rise in operator injuries, our in-house division, RJD Manufacturing, stepped up to investigate.
The issue quickly became clear. Even with proper training and well-defined safety procedures in place, operators were still experiencing hand injuries during a specific production process involving standard one-handed routers.
Working closely with both the HEALTH & SAFETY and PRODUCTION TEAMS, we designed a solution that tackles the problem at its source. The result: the RJD DPTHM TWIN HANDED ROUTER – a tool engineered to reduce shop floor risks, through a simple yet highly effective mechanism. The router only operates when both start buttons are pressed simultaneously, ensuring that both hands are safely engaged away from the cutting area.
As with all RJD manufactured products, the DPTHM is built to the highest safety standards. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with a significant reduction in incidents and injuries. The customer has already ordered five additional units, with plans for more in the pipeline.
